First started in September of 2013, the market provides local food and market fare to those who live or work around South Kensington. On the Imperial College campus with proximity to the museums, this market serves everyone from the locals, tourists, students, professors, art curators, et cetera.
The aroma of freshly baked breads and the colours of masterfully grown fruit and vegetables will make you feel at ease, as you sip your freshly squeezed juice and soak up the sunshine on the beautiful Queen’s Lawn. You can also purchase cheeses, jams and breads, but there is a distinct emphasis on food to go. Being on a university campus, the market definitely caters to the students. There are plenty of lunch options – mostly burgers and sausage sandwiches, with paella and Italian pastas, as well.
While most street markets tend to happen around the weekends, the South Kensington Farmers’ Market is a welcome break to the humdrum of weekdays. We love Tuesdays InKensington!
