The Chelsea Sports Centre is currently the only leisure centre within Kensington and Chelsea. The modernity of the inside beautifully contrasts with the historic 1907 building just off the King’s Road. The leisure centre offers a wide range of services including a complete gym with personal trainers, swimming pools, as well as group exercise classes. You can also book football pitches, tennis courts and badminton courts.

Recently, the centre has been transformed after a £1.36 makeover in 2014. The centre is located just off the King’s Road next to the Chelsea Old Town Hall and is a wonderful facility for the K&C community.

The Gym

The gym at the centre offers both regular membership, as well as short term passes for those who would like to visit more infrequently. You can choose how many passes you’d like to purchase from 1, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days. This is a great way to maintain your fitness regime if you’re just visiting the area or to decide if the Chelsea Sports Centre is the right fit for you and your fitness goals. Passes for one day start at £10 and go up to £64 for 30 days.

Gym Facilities

After being updated in July 2014, the gym in the Chelsea Sports Centre now has the latest Tychno Gym cardio equipment, as well as ample floor space to do floor exercises and abdominal stretches on fitness balls. The centre also has an extensive weights section, including both free weights and resistance weights.

Classes

Classes at the centre have included, but are not limited to: Extreme Interval Fitness, Hatha Yoga, Brazilian Dance, Brazilian Toning, Body Conditioning, Functional Circuits, Body Pump, Aerobics, R&B Dance, Extreme Interval Fitness, Core Stability, Pilates, Body Combat, Bootcamp, Fitness Bands, Yoga, Zumba, 55+ Aerobics, Step & Pump, Tai Chi, Pre & Post Natal Yoga, Latino Aerobics and Vinyasa Yoga. These are, of course, subject to change.

Extras

There are two pools at Chelsea Sports Centre: a 25-metre lap pool and a 10-metre teaching pool. Lessons are offered at the centre for any age, as well as water workout classes and swimming for women. Read more about it on our swimming page.

Like most gyms, the Chelsea Sports Centre also offers the opportunity for one-on-one time with professional personal trainers. Whether you just need that extra push or would like a fitness programme that is tailored to your goals, personal training is an excellent chance to get serious about fitness. You can book a complimentary session online or by calling up the Chelsea Sports Centre.

Sports Hall

The sports hall at the Chelsea Sports Centre consists of 1 basketball court, 2 badminton courts and 1 football court. Ask at the front desk how you can book in a game.

Outdoor Sports

The centre also takes bookings and payments for the tennis courts and football pitches at St Lukes’ Church on Sydney Street. The floodlit Astroturf football pitch is suitable for 7-a-side. See our tennis and football pages for further information.
