Whether you’re researching a specific topic, need a bit of peace and quiet to study or want a new book to read – make sure to check out your local K&C library. The six libraries are conveniently scattered around the borough, offering the locals a tranquil retreat.
All K&C libraries have computers available for members of the public to use with one-hour of free Internet access per day. This service, however, is available only to library members. If you live in the area, make sure you take advantage of this wonderful service.
Tri-Borough Libraries
Kensington and Chelsea have also teamed up with the Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham boroughs, granting residents access to libraries in all three boroughs. Read more about it on the official K&C council site.
Becoming a Member
Becoming a member at one of Kensington and Chelsea’s libraries is simple! All you need to do to apply for a membership is to fill out a membership form and provide proof of your name and address. You can do this by providing a driver’s license, a credit card statement, a utility bill or a bank statement. Bring this to your local library and the friendly librarians will give you a library card and one that can go on your key ring! You also get a choice of what you want your card to look like – kittens, books and artwork are some of the fun options.
Children and youngsters under the age of 18 will require a signature of a parent or guardian. Download your membership forms on the council website.
