Opened in 2006 following a multi-million pound refurbishment, the Rockwell is a small but elegant hotel with just 40 guestrooms and is ideally placed for guests visiting the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre. Just slightly further afield are some of London’s top attractions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Hyde Park and the fashionable Knightsbridge shops.
Accommodation
Typical of many of London’s hotels, the rooms in the Rockwell are smaller than similarly priced accommodation in other parts of the country. It should also be noted that there are no tea and coffee making facilities within the rooms, and although drinks can be ordered via room service, there is an additional charge for this. Rooms are understated in their design with timeless furnishings and fabrics such as solid oak cupboards and merino wool blankets. All have en-suite bathroom facilities; however, there are no bathtubs – only walk-in showers. Other amenities include flat screen televisions with satellite channels, complimentary Wi-Fi and broadband, as well as complimentary toiletries from the White Company.
In addition to Single and Double Rooms, Deluxe Double Rooms and Mezzanine Suites are available. Innovative furniture is used to make the most of the very limited space in the Single Rooms and all rooms include a desk regardless of size. The Mezzanine Suites are split level with a lounge and a bedroom and some of the ground floor rooms open out onto the hotel’s private garden. All rooms have very efficient double glazing to shield guests from the sounds of the busy London traffic just outside.
Restaurants and Bars
The Rockwell Hotel’s Dining Room and Bar is a light space that overlooks the hotel’s gardens and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is typical of modern British cuisine and is reasonably priced for a central London restaurant. Guests can also enjoy a drink in the lobby lounge that has sumptuous sofas and an excellent selection of reading materials.

The hotel has a private walled garden with outdoor seating and night lights.
