With an enviable location halfway between the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum, the Queen’s Gate Hotel is a self-rated 4-star guesthouse that combines Victorian elegance with contemporary chic. Situated within four townhouses built in the mid-19th century, the hotel has recently been acquired by new owners who have undertaken an extensive refurbishment, resulting in 90 well-appointed rooms, a bar, a breakfast room and a fitness centre.

Accommodation

As a typical mid-range London hotel, rooms err on the small side with standard rooms having only 15 square metres of space, and the largest family rooms for two adults and two children having 35 square metres. Despite this, the rooms are amply furnished with a good selection of amenities, including LCD televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a desk with a laptop compatible safe. The modern en-suite bathrooms feature chrome fixtures and fittings, showers over bathtubs and a selection of complimentary toiletries.

All of the rooms have been decorated in a simple yet modern style that includes wood panel flooring and floor-to-ceiling art prints. The Victorian preference for large windows ensures each room benefits from natural light and views of London. Standard Double or Twin, Executive Double, Triple and Family (Quadruple) Rooms are all available.

Restaurants and Bars

The Clubhouse Restaurant within the Queen’s Gate Hotel is open for breakfast only for the exclusive use of guests. The breakfast menu includes classic English cooked options, continental pastries and there is a selection Spanish cuisine reflecting the origins of the previous hotel owners.

The urban styled bar, which opens up onto a small patio, has also benefited from the refurbishment and is a stylish place to unwind. The bar has a limited tapas menu that is available all day, as well as a number of other savoury snacks. It also serves a good selection of Italian barista style coffee.

Additional Facilities and Services

There is a small fitness centre for the complimentary use of guests with a selection of cardiovascular machines and weights.

There are also two small meeting rooms that can accommodate around 30 people.
