Fans of Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum will undoubtedly be enamoured by the Ampersand Hotel. Accommodation
The 111 rooms and suites are beautifully styled according to five different themes. Choose an astronomy inspired room with wallpaper featuring star maps or a studio that references the study of botany with delicate orchids and floral patterned fabrics. Music, Geometry and Ornithology also make an appearance. Amenities include LCD televisions with on-demand movies, media hubs, iPod docking stations and Nespresso coffee machines. In addition, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Rooms range in size from cosy singles to spacious suites with a separate lounge and kitchenette. All rooms include en-suite bathroom facilities.
Restaurants and Bars
Open daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, Apero is the Ampersand’s intimate restaurant and bar housed in the building’s former wine cellar. Using fresh and seasonal ingredients, Apero serves Mediterranean inspired cuisine, including a special Sharing Menu that has a selection of the restaurant’s signature dishes to taste. The bar has a large choice of wines and cocktails, and the adjacent Wine Room hosts a floor to ceiling display of the hotel’s wine collection, as well as a large banqueting table that is available for private dining.
In the Ampersand’s Drawing Room, which takes inspiration from France’s tea rooms, guests can enjoy light bites and pastries, as well as a sumptuous Afternoon Tea served between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. Popular with local residents, the large and comfortable sofas provide a delightful place to relax after a long visit to the museums.
Additional Facilities and Services
The Ampersand has a small gym available exclusively to hotel residents 24-hours a day. In addition, there is a games room with a table-tennis table and various other games that can be hired for private events.
