With a list of past guests that includes the Queen of Denmark, the Draycott Hotel is a sophisticated and charming boutique guest house that exemplifies British elegance. This former Victorian townhouse was built in 1890 and features interiors that are fit for royalty. The hotel is to the south of Hyde Park on a quaint residential street that is close to Sloane Square tube station.
Accommodation
The Draycott has 35 uniquely styled rooms and suites that exude timeless elegance with antique furniture from the Edwardian period and plush rich fabrics. Each room is named after a notable person from the theatrical arts and contains items relating to their namesakes such as photos or biographies. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel and, in addition, rooms benefit from a television with satellite channels, a CD and DVD player, air conditioning and a mini bar.
Rooms range in size from singles to suites. Single rooms are cosy but do have a desk and a wardrobe. For additional space, choose a Deluxe Double room that includes a comfortable seating area. Guests can also choose to have a garden view room with views over Cadogan Gardens. Suites have a separate living room and an additional guest cloak room. All rooms have modern bathrooms with rain showers and heated towel rails.
Restaurants and Bars
As with many boutique hotels, the Draycott lacks a restaurant. However, there is a room service menu that includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner with options available until 11pm. In the mornings, breakfast is served in the breakfast room with continental or full English options available. Furthermore, complimentary refreshments are served daily, including Champagne, biscuits and hot chocolate. In the hotel’s lounge there is an honesty bar where guests can serve themselves, whilst the room service menu includes an excellent selection of wines, beers, spirits, teas and coffees.
