Crowne Plaza London Kensington

Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, the Crowne Plaza London Kensington is a lovely four-star rated hotel within walking distance of a number of London’s top attractions, including the Natural History Museum and Kensington Gardens. Both leisure and business facilities are available at this hotel, which is housed within a grand Victorian building.

Accommodation

Despite the Victorian heritage of the building, the Crowne Plaza is contemporary in its style, with each one of the 162 rooms featuring modern décor and furnishings. The elegantly presented rooms include an excellent selection of amenities, such as flat screen televisions with digital channels, air conditioning, iPod docking stations, tea and coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi (charged at £12 for 24-hours).

Within the hotel, a combination of Standard Doubles, Deluxe Family Rooms (two double beds), Club Double/Twin and Superior Suites are available. Guests staying in the Club rooms have access to the Crowne Plaza’s Club Lounge where a complimentary breakfast is served, along with unlimited beverages and evening canapés. In addition, Club Rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi and chocolates. Some rooms have views of the hotel’s private garden and all rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers over bathtubs with complimentary toiletries.

Restaurants and Bars

Open to residents and non-residents alike, Umami is the Crowne’s South Asian themed restaurant serving up a fusion of dishes from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. With a Feng Shui design and jazz and swing music in the background, the restaurant is an informal and relaxing space where guests can enjoy either lunch or dinner.

Alternatively, bar food can be sought in the hotel’s Lounge Bar that also serves a range of drinks. Children accompanying a paying adult can eat for free within the Lounge Bar.

The hotel has an air conditioned fitness suite with a number of cardiovascular trainers and arm press machines, as well as a sauna.

There is a spacious private garden with a covered and heated seating area and indoors you will find a guest lounge with a selection of books, large comfortable sofas and a television. Computers are available for use both in the lobby area and in the Club Lounge.
